Artist statement:
To me, Audrey Hepburn is an inspiration due to the fact that while she's better known for being a famous actress, she was also a humanitarian. Most people might recognize her films such as ¨Roman Holiday” and ¨Breakfast at Tiffany's¨, She was also appointed to become a special ambassador for the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) after her film career, and being in the middle of a nazi occupation as a child, she worked with these children in some of the poorest nations. Though she had worked with the UNICEF in the 50´s during her film career, this dedication was a big one, and it consumed the remainder of her life, visiting Africa and South Asia to help those in need, and eventually receiving the Presidential freedom award. Audrey Hepburn inspired me because she taught me that to be dedicated to something through that I´m passionate will pay off and that I should always work towards my goals. She first came to mind for this project because I knew that most people just knew her for her film career and I wanted to explore who she was as a person.
