Courageous conversations
For this project we had a conversation with three strangers that to many seems out of place and even unbar of: we talked about race. Our first conversation occurred and our local retirement home where after preparing a series of interview questions, had a courageous conversation with the elderly. Our next stop was CSUSM with the students in a history class. The results where very different. Back in the classroom, we taught inequality gap lessons and learned about white privilege, the wage gap, and about ourselves and how we really felt towards the topic. I got to see myself as well as my peers grow from this experience. For this projects final products, I wrote a courageous conversations paper about my own views on the matter as well as how I've grown as a person inside and outside the classroom based on this project.
