exhibition reflection
Throughout this project we created art pieces that told stories of social enligthenment in art, currated and preformed studnet led plays in humanities, and exhibited it all to the public in one night, interacting with our peers and parents. One thing that I am most proud of is my groups play. taking on a leadership role and writing the script made me feel more connected to the final product as me and my peers created a play that tackled self judgement as well as judgement from others that teenagers face in their everyday lives. To share this message and story with the public is something I'm very proud of, and to get praise from the audience members afterwards made me realize that people truly connected the the content, and for a exhibiton, theres nothing better than knowing your work meant something and resinated with it's audeince.
While I'm very proud of all our work as a team, if given more time I would of liked to focus on the projects even more, making sure everything ran as smoothly as possible. In everything we do, there is constantly room for improvement. At the end of the day I was very proud of what our class accomplished and presented at our exhibition, and to have even more time to craft those preformancdes and art pieces, then we could of raiased that bar even higher.
For all three of my classes, I worked with the same peer, and because we work so well together, we divided the work evenly. In art, I worked alongside them to create a acrylic on canvas piece that targeted gender inequalities and sexism in the media. I came in at lunch multiple times to finsih the piece and make sure it met my own exspectations as well as my teachers. In humanities, I fisnished our play script for my team as well as helped my group members memorize their lines as well as provided props to make our preformance come to life.
For next semester’s Exhibition, I want to take the same feel of this semesters and apply it to the content we do. This years setup connected our audience and our gallery space togehter and allowed a bright, warm, space for our work to be displayed. I'm so proud not only of the work we presented but the space we created to do so. For our upcoming exhibition I want to keep in mind that it's not only the work that makes a great exhibition, but the atmosphere.
In this project, I feel that I used multiple habits of heart and mind. One in particular that comes to mind is the habit of connection. I think that while writing our play I had to make connections to my peers in order for the content to be relatable and realistic, but also I felt connected to my art piece, realising that gender inequality is still present as ever and an issue that needs to be addressed. another habit is the habit of unlimited potential. Throughout this project, especially with my art piece, I was open to diffrent approaches with our piece and was dedicated in sharing it's strong message that was both my play and my art.
